Hellequin

Biography

Hellequin is a Chilean black metal band formed in early 2010, but it was not until the eve of May 2011 (Walpurgisnacht) when a stable formation with Lord Davmon howling hideous omens, Khiatus in which deadly guitar guillotine was invoked, chamer on bass like a dead kicking out and Mordred on drums spreading the miasma with brutal stomping.

Our logo and a pic of some cds of our demo Terra Apocalypto (2013) It consists of four tracks of somber black metal, raw and direct, with influences of traditional black metal and much of Scandinavian death metal. The tracks are Terra Apocalypto, Black Storm, Burn the Village! & Dark Legion. The demo had a good distribution and acceptance in black bangers Chileans from different parts and was good reviews from several national fanzines. At the moment we are working on our first full length (2015), a training and very evil intentions from the beginning of the band. Also in the coming months there will be a re edition of our demo in cassette format will contain a bonus track preview of what will be our first record. Deads Hail!

CHILE - Land Of The Metal!
Chile is an awesome country for heavy metal. In fact, most fairly to highly liberal South American countries are. Black and death metal are paramount. No label I've come across in the past half decade or so exemplifies this like Australis Records (see ad above). Every few months they bring it, and generally it's a cut above good. Check that label out, if you love heavy metal, you will not be disappointed.
There are all kinds of great bands in Chile though, not "just" pure metal. Such a great band is Octopus. Heavy and progressive, yet they probably would not be considered heavy metal. But metal stands strong with the death stomp of Annog Vnrama. And of course the mighty Warchest. You can check them and more Chilean bands out on the Rockfest Soundcloud playlist at http://www.rockfest.org. Till the next zine comes out, the majority of bands you hear there will be from Chile. Not all mind you, but most of them will be.
Chile is also home to fine women. Much like the US, bloodlines of all nations are presented in a wide swath of Chilean people. There is a heavy presence of native peoples, the indians who were in Chile before anyone else. Lots of hispanics, european, slavic and african peoples mix in Chile. It's a melting pot, and makes for some gorgeous people.
Beer is important in some segments of Chile. In others, alcohol not so much. Some native liquors are found only in Chile; you'll be hard pressed to get them even from the most robust importers. As a friend of mine who visits Chile regularly has told me over and over, "Dude, you will love this place. The music, ladies, wine and weed, are spectacular!"
