EDITOR'S bs:
I know 99.9 percent of the people who read this ezine are into
really heavy music. The Sound ezine, many years ago, used to be
multi-genre, until I started doing numerous webzines and decided
to let the freaks come to me with ezine stuff. I used to spend
over a week researching this ezine, and another week to email it
(try over 100,000 email addresses by hand, without spamming, and
using free email accounts! GEEZE!). If this was the only zine
I did, that would be ok. That, however is not the case today.
What has transpired is what I mentioned a few months back when I
got quite a few cancellations because those readers had decided
the ezine was too "metal".....I get more, better in depth metal
news because the heavy metal underground is monsterous, and word
gets around about things. If it's heavy, from punk to death metal,
it seems to end up in here.
I do every once in a while mention the other styles of music I
do publications about. This is one of those mentions:

Rock A Mole Productions has just finished a documentary film, The
Ultimate Song, that highlights the great importance of music in the battle to
end poverty. The Ultimate Song includes interviews and/or performance footage of
Ice T, Sara Hickman, Jackson Browne, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine,
Bruce Springsteen, Brother Bank, Marah, Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule, Krown
Ju-Elz, Steve Earle, Kindred, Wayne Kramer, and Brian Blade.
This is combined with interviews and action footage of the growing poor
people's movement in the United States. The leaders from the ranks of the poor
detail the importance of music in their work, how it helps break down the
isolation of individuals and organizations and how it keeps spirits up during
trying times.
The Ultimate Song explores a new relationship between musicians and poor
people's organizations, where the poverty of musicians and their struggle to
create is placed on the same footing as the general problems of high rent and
low health care.
The Ultimate Song, filled with music from beginning to end, shows how the
use of culture can help bring about the end of poverty for musician and fan
alike. It tackles such questions as: "Are Poor People Lazy?," "What Color is
Poverty?," "Musicians Are (Poor) People Too," "The Power of Music," and "What
Can Musicians Do?".

LA METAL HELLFEST
Indian Head Entertainment, promoters of the L.A. Metal Hellfest
are offering interested metal bands an opportunity to play in the
on-going showcase concert series in North Hollywood, California in
order to possibly become a potential band to be a part of the next
line-up of the L.A. METAL HELLFEST III to be held in early 2003.
The showcase concert series are held at the Salon Corona (old FM
Station), 1170 Victory Boulevard (corner of Lankershim and
Victory)in North Hollywood, California, USA. The entrance is for
all metal fans 21 and over. The cost is $7.00 US Dollars at the
door.
Interested bands can contact Indian Head Entertainment promoter
CHIEF at (626) 458-4458, Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm
(Pacific).
Planning for the L.A. METAL HELLFEST III is starting to take
shape and it looks like it will be a bigger production than
previous events, with some big league names being looked at to
headline what may very possibly be a 2 night event.
Previous festivals have featured international metal bands such

EXODUS, AGENT STEEL, STEEL PROPHET, CAGE, SADISTIC INTENT, NEW
